Sadhana
Kundalini Yoga Sadhana
Sadhana is the personal discipline to awaken awareness. It means a daily spiritual practice. It is a discipline of the mind and body to serve the soul. In San Diego (near Balboa Park) a group of people meet to do sadhana early in the morning before sunrise from 3:50am-6:30am. This is the optimal time for spiritual practice and it prepares you for the day ahead.
In Kundalini Yoga we practice different kinds of Sadhanas, but the most important one is the yoga practice that we do very early in the morning, before the sun rises. At this time the angle of the sun to the Earth is very good for meditation. Daily activities and vibrations do not interfere with the yoga practice during those hours. There is a lot of prana in the surroundings and the body rhythms are more set for mental and physical cleansing than during the rest of the day, and instead of releasing the drives of the subconscious mind through dreams, we clean the subconscious garbage consciously, meditating on the sound current.
